55K and 108K START AND FINISH AT THE CHALLIS CITY PARK.
32K STARTS AT BAYHORSE AND FINISHES AT CHALLIS CITY PARK
55K & 108K runners will exit the City Park, cross Main Street, Challis and run down the ATV trail headed out of town. Within 2-1/2 miles, the course transitions from town to country with mountainous elevations visible in the near distance. The courses share the initial 20 miles through BCS, Keystone, and Bayhorse. Near the end of the runs, spectators and fans will see participants barrel down the last mile on Main Street to finish where it all began some hours earlier. Runners are allowed to have crew and fans complete the final run down Main Street and into the park to the finish with them.
Designed to be tough and beautiful, these courses will tease runners with a downhill start and finish in Challis (elev 5200’) sandwiched around some big mountain climbs over 8, 9, and nearly 10,000 feet. Elk, deer, eagles, bears and wolves add to the mystique of the River of No Return, as do the forgotten mines and mining communities, old Idaho traditions – all surrounded by the very supportive community of Challis.
The courses are crew-friendly with multiple aid stations that are support team-accessible.
Runners will be treated to a fast finish down Main Street Challis and back into the Challis City Park, where you will be greeted with fun festivities.
The 32K will start at Bayhorse and follow the 55K route back to Challis.
Operating under special use permit on public lands administered by the Challis Bureau of Land Management, the Salmon-Challis National Forest, and the Idaho State Parks – Land of the Yankee Fork.
